Opportunity
Seattle Good Business Network’s (SGBN) small business members expressed an interest in running their businesses more sustainably. SGBN saw an opportunity to expand their circular economy programming, and to work with Circular by Design as well as local municipal officials to help inform their approach.
Approach
Our starting point was to better understand where SGBN members were experiencing pain points as well as perceived opportunities to launch or sustain circular business operations, products or business models. Our user research demonstrated there was a strong desire to build communities of practice, education and expertise for business owners interested in the topic.
Outcomes
In response, Circular by Design in partnership with SGBN, is currently leading a coalition of small textiles business owners through a series of design workshops to clarify their focal areas of circular impact, with an eye towards building a larger, local eco-system of textile industry partners to further and more quickly advance their circularity goals.
